On December 22, 2002, Joe Strummer, co-founder and lead singer of The Clash, icon of an entire generation thanks to his protest songs, died at the age of just fifty.
With his protest songs, he was a musical and political inspiration for a whole generation.

July 13, 1985: Live Aid

On July 13, 1985, one of the most important concerts in the history of music was held: Live Aid.
The event was organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise money for Ethiopia, victim of a terrible famine.
The cities where the numerous artists performed were connected via satellite to give life to one of the greatest television events ever.

Yesterday And Today: Europe

Among the hit songs of the 80s, The Final Countdown by Europe has a place of honor. Who doesn't still hum it from time to time? I definitely do and it certainly isn't missing in my music player.

Flashdance

They will not be Oscar-winning films, but there are also light films, not acclaimed by critics, which remain etched in our mind in memory of those cheerful moments that adolescence gave us.

One of these is Flashdance, a 1983 film directed by Adrian Lyne starring Jennifer Beals.

The Psychedelic Furs - Heaven

It's hard to forget the video of Heaven, a great single from 1984 by The Psychedelic Furs. Also because I've seen it more or less a few thousand times.
But, yeah, one more time... it can't do any harm!
