Thompson Twins: where are they now?

Autograph by Tom Bailey of the Thompson Twins

Do you remember the Thompson Twins?

Tom Bailey, Alannah Currie, and Joe Leeway were the members of this English group, active from 1977 to 1993.

The Thompson Twins' most successful years were 1984 and 1985, thanks to the albums Into The Gap and Here's To Future Days, works in which the band's typical synth-pop stands out.

Doctor! Doctor!, Hold Me Now, and Lay Your Hands On Me are their most famous singles.

But what happened to the Thompson Twins?

Joe Leeway left the band in 1986, turning it into a duo.

In the following years, he tried to build a solo career and an acting career, but they did not take off.

In 2006, he moved to the United States and definitively left the world of entertainment. Since then, he has worked in the field of hypnotic medicine.

After the band split, Alannah Currie and Tom Bailey, then husband and wife, moved to her home country of New Zealand.

They now live back in the UK, Alannah with her second husband.

Alannah is a visual artist with her own studio and works under the name Miss Pokeno.

Tom has remained in the music business, first as a producer and keyboardist for New Zealand band Stellar, then as the musical duo International Observer.

In 2014, he returned to performing live under his own name, again performing Thompson Twins songs.

Tom's autograph is one of my most treasured memorabilia from the 80s.
