Is there any kid from that era who doesn't remember Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler?
I don't think so.
This song took the Welsh singer (Bonnie was born in Swansea, a beautiful town on the Welsh coast) to the charts all over the world with many first positions, such as in the United States, Australia, and Canada.
Total Eclipse of the Heart is included on the 1983 album Faster Than the Speed of the Night, which is also the title of the following single.
A song of such great success could only boast many covers, recorded or performed live during tours.
Here are some artists who have made their own version of the song: English singer Nicki French, Irish band Westlife, and Italian singers L'Aura and Valerio Scanu.
The song has also appeared in films and TV shows, including Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Grey's Anatomy, Bandits, Urban Legend, and Nip/Tuck.
And then... well, I'm not a regular at Karaoke bars (but I wouldn't mind... I'll pop in one someday), but in my opinion, Total Eclipse of the Heart rocks there too!
