After the death of lead singer Bon Scott on February 19, 1980, AC/DC considered breaking up the band, but quickly changed their minds and wrote what became their most successful album, Back in Black.
As we all know, Brian Johnson was chosen to replace Bon Scott and immediately wrote the songs for the album together with Malcolm Young and Angus Young.
Malcolm and Angus, brothers, are both guitarists and founded the band together.
Malcolm left AC/DC last year for health reasons, replaced by his nephew Stevie.
At the time of Back in Black, the band also consisted of bassist Cliff Williams, still a member of the group, and drummer Phil Rudd, a member from 1975 to 1983 and from 1994 to 2014.
Back in Black has sold over 50 million copies worldwide, becoming the second best-selling album of all time after Michael Jackson's Thriller.
The famous black cover, strongly desired by the band, represents the mourning for the death of Bon Scott.
Four singles were released from the album: You Shook Me All Night Long, Hells Bells, Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution, and Back in Black.
Of these, Back in Black has become probably the band's most beloved and famous piece, present in every rock/metal classics chart and often covered by other artists in concert.
