Pour Some Sugar on Me, Def Leppard's Iconic Song

A single from the 1987 album Hysteria, Pour Some Sugar on Me perfectly represents Def Leppard's musical style.

It's no coincidence that the song is probably the most famous of the British band.

Pour Some Sugar on Me was first released in the UK (September 1987) and later in the US (April 1988) with a different video featuring footage of the band on tour. The earlier video was only broadcast in the UK.

With heavy rotation on radio and music TV, the song reached number two on the US singles chart and helped Hysteria reach the top of the album charts.

The second version of the video, being part of a concert, has a longer and more distorted intro than the song on the album. This version of the song is always used in the band's compilations.

Pour Some Sugar on Me remains one of the most iconic songs of '80s rock.
