On December 22, 2002, Joe Strummer, co-founder and lead singer of The Clash, icon of an entire generation thanks to his protest songs, died at the age of just fifty.
The Clash formed in London in 1976.
Their first album, The Clash, was released on April 8, 1977.
A year later, came out Give 'Em Enough Rope, but worldwide success arrived with their third album, London Calling, released on December 14, 1979.
Then came Sandinista!, dated 1980, Combat Rock in 1982, and Cut The Crap in 1985, the year in which the band broke up.
On September 11, 1984, the show scheduled in Turin was canceled for security reasons.
When the directive from the Turin police station arrived, the band was already on the bus, ready to go to the stadium.
How do I know? I was on that bus too.
